What is a Master Plan?

A Master Plan will provide a vision for, and a rationale to support physical development on the Park University campus today and in the future. It will recognize the bluff-side setting, the academic focus, and the culture that are unique to Park University.

Questions about the Master Plan should be directed to Roger Hershey, Commission Chair Vice President & General Counsel for Park University.

Why do We Need a Master Plan?

Park University anticipates significant growth in enrollment in the next ten years. The Master Plan provides the framework to accommodate that growth. Aesthetic strategies will be balanced with financial considerations, and steps for implementation.

The Master Plan will be designed to sync with the strategic plan previously developed, and recently updated, which serves as Park University's visioning document, entitled Explorations and Transformations 2012; Access to Excellence.

When Will the Master Plan be Completed?

One could argue that a Master Plan is never really completed as long as a campus continues to grow and change. Therefore, this version, the 2006 Master Plan, is anticipated to completed upon approval by the Board of Trustees in May.

Who is Creating the Master Plan?

Ellerbe Becket is the firm retained to provide Master Planning Services, but it should be noted that the Master Plan will be a direct reflection of the institution, the campus, and the constituents that participate in its creation.
