Parkville Adopts City in Mississippi, Donations NeededBy Summer A. Evans - September 9, 2005 - 8:55 amEmail this article | Printer friendly page | Media Inquiries In response to the recent catastrophic Hurricane Katrina, the city of Parkville, Mo., announced that it is adopting Ocean Springs, Miss., home to 10 Park University graduates who finished their degrees between 1977 and 2004. The following donated items are needed: * Air mattresses * Pillows and bedding * Toiletries (soap, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.) * Hygiene kits * Baby supplies (disposable diapers, baby wipes, baby foods, etc.) * Bleach * Tarps * Non-perishable foods (pop-off canned foods, granola bars, etc.) * Bottled water Please donate money in lieu of clothing. Today, Sept. 9, is the last day to drop off items from 8 a.m. to noon at City Hall (1201 East Street in Parkville, Mo.), and 1 to 7 p.m. at Park Plaza (5200 NW 64th St. in Kansas City, Mo.)
