Recognizing the key role that the Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF) plays in providing resources to help educate students in member private liberal-arts colleges and universities, the AT&T Foundation has awarded Park University a grant of $15,000.

"We appreciate the fact that these private colleges enroll 25 percent of the undergraduate students in the state, yet they award 36 percent of all four-year degrees in Missouri - and they do this without reliance on federal or state tax support," said Rich Shank, AT&T's sales center vice president in St. Louis. "Through the years, AT&T's grants have provided scholarship support to qualified students who are working on degrees in communications, computer science, marketing and international business and other related fields of study."

The MCF, founded in 1952, is a not-for-profit consortium of 13 of the Show-Me State's finest independent colleges with enrollments exceeding 45,000 students. Member colleges include Avila University, Central Methodist University, Culver-Stockton College, Drury University, Evangel University, Fontbonne University, Maryville University, Missouri Baptist University, Park University, Southwest Baptist University Westminster College, William Jewell College and William Woods University. The 13 colleges work together in a collaborative approach to raise funds for need-based student financial aid.

"Even with our efforts to contain tuition costs, student financial aid is arguably the most pressing need our colleges and their students face," said Beverley Byers-Pevitts, Ph.D., president of Park University. "AT&T's support over the past 44 years has had a profound impact on the efforts of our member colleges to provide need-based scholarships to qualified students."
