Each student will receive a one year stipend of $11,930; housing at an apartment furnished complex; partial to full tuition reimbursement provision depending on institutional tuition rates; one year of credit for teaching (allowing them to move up the Kansas City Missouri School District's or charter school's salary schedule); and real-world experience living and learning in as urban community. To be eligible, students must be seeking a degree in elementary, early childhood, middle school, special education or secondary education; preparing to begin student teaching in the fall of 2005; agree to teach an additional year in the school which is completed during an internship; and be approved through the application process.
