Students Present at 2005 Great Plains Honor CouncilBy Summer A. Evans - April 22, 2005 - 3:16 pmEmail this article | Printer friendly page | Media Inquiries The Park University Degree with Honors program sponsored seven undergraduate students to attend the Great Plains Honors Council Regional meeting on Apr. 8-10 at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan. The students that participated were Cynthia Hinesley, Christine Deem, Christine Bulley, Rachel Gard, Erica Brower, Beate Markus and Cherie Journee. Faculty advisors that escorted the students were Carol Sanders, Ph.D., director of the Honors Program, Phyllis Hipps, Ph.D., director of the Social Work Program. Other faculty who attended were Kay Boehr, interior design, and Donna Bachmann, Art Department chair. Park faculty members sponsored the following student projects that were presented at the regional meeting: Christine Bulley presented "Responsibilities in foster care," sponsored by Phyllis Hipps, Ph.D. Rachel Gard presented "Erickson's integrity vs. despair - in the rest home environment," sponsored by Phyllis Hipps, Ph.D. Beate Markus presented "Cultural influences on human sexuality: A study comparing American and German college students and their attitudes toward sex," sponsored by Phyllis Hipps, Ph.D. Christine Deem presented "The business of interior design," sponsored by Kay Boehr Cynthia Hinesley presented "Sol Le Witt Wall Drawing #1097 installation," sponsored by Donna Bachmann Erica Brower presented "A 12 month study of physical and chemical characteristics of Weatherby Lake," sponsored by Carol Sanders, Ph.D. |
